    wow alot of anger from these ppl. butanyway that was a great episode.bith deidara and sasuke(mainly cuz of the cursemark and sealed orochimaru) are strong.i’ll give thumbs up 2 sasuke clever and analytical hypothesis and 2 deidara 4 training his left eye 2 see through sharigan’s genjutsu. and dat was freaky(cuz me and my bro said wat the hell) and also cool.that blast luks like a irregular star.lol.

    Those who keep saying saskue is a spoilt brat i dont understand why you keep hating on saskue.     Let me put an end to this pointless cursing. Johnnynarutoanalrapist is right. Sasuke absorbed a sick, near-death Orochimaru (which means Sasuke gained his chakra, snake summonings AND regeneration), he has a Curse Mark (which gives him wings and MORE chakra), he has the elemental advantage (in this manga/anime, Lightning beats Earth) AND he has the Sharingan (which he used to copy Rock Lee and learn the chidori). Using ALL these advantages he only BARELY defeated Deidara (a ninja with NONE of the things Sasuke has). Seriously Sasuke fans, Sasuke had 4 advantages when he fought Deidara, its time u admit that Sasuke really isn’t so powerful. And trust me, by the time of Naruto vs Pein, you’ll see just how weak Itachi is compared to Pein and how weak Sasuke is when compared to Naruto. Even Madara said Naruto was stronger than Sasuke now.

     Hi, i find it funny how people create favoritism in characters of a story, it is kinda pathetic that people cried over this and that because the authors of the story did this and that, that’s also one of the reasons dragonball Z eventually ended with low popularity. Well stating this first i shall comment on the whole sasuke is weak moto that has recently arised.
     For once the battle with Orochimaru weak version is always a strong point for sasuke, weak or not, no one had ever been able to surpress the power of the white snake. Much less being able to keep him alive and absorb all of his powers, not even he third with that cursed seal could surpress orochimaru for too long and he was said to be the best right?
     (spoilers)
     If you follow the manga you obviously know what ability sasuke had up his sleeve, for those that dont know, let’s just say it would 1-hit-kill deidara off the batch. But sasuke has the whole “mesuring ability” moto that derives from the uchiha clan, he wanted to test the his own limits and so he prolonged the battle and tested out a diferent ability, obviously he underestimated deidara, a tatical specialist, specially strong vs genjutsu.

     Those that say that sasuke didn’t work hard simply didn’t pay attention, sasuke on his own(MEANING WITHOUT HELP) perfected the nature manipulation of Lightning, to an exttent that wasn’t shown in the show yet. Far more perfected then narutos wind style rasengan, chidori is at a state where it couldn’t be much better, it’s probably S-Ranked or even beyond that.(spoilers) Only the raikage is shown to have similar abilities

     The whole genetic advantage is a mute point. Lee for instance isn’t all about hard work, his body is also geneticaly good for his style of battle, and he is able to open the gates up to 5 (so far), but that bring risk to the body as it was well pointed out, think though that Mangekyou Sharingam also bring blindness and that is a risk both sasuke and itachi take, as well as kakashi.

     Sasuke is a briliant tactition and as well as well resourceful character with all kinds of tricks, from the most basic ninja tools the the complicated nature manipulation, which requires an amount of chakra that wastes sasuke.

     I believe most of the anime viewers will find sasukes powers pretty interesting in the battle vs itachi, those who read manga and still doubt his abilities are probably the first ones i pointed, pure fanboys, imo, no offense.

     Orochimaru was only defeated only because he was at his weakest point..Sasuke supressed him by using his sharingan with the help of the curse mark as a result he gained new power which is Orochimaru’s power..Sasuke wouldve not done this with Orochimaru at full power..Furthermore Sasuke was trained by Orochimaru..that includes training and perfecting nature manipulation..they had the same goal which is to kill Itachi..im sure they would do anything to meet that goal..as a a result Sasuke learned a new jutsu called “Kirin” he was about to use it on Team Kakashi at Orochimaru’s hideout but Orochimaru stops him..

     Deidara was only defeated because elemental advantage..its tru he couldve easily one hit kill Deidara by “Kirin” but instead he prolonged the fight and avoided hitting vital points to gain information about Itachi’s whereabouts..but still faces the fact that he only won because of elemental advantage and his bloodline trait the “sharingan”..able to read hand signs at fast pace finding out what elements he uses..able to see chakra color pin pointing every location of the landmines and avoiding explosions..you could say that it was unfair fight..but Deidara put up a good fight..

     Itachi was never defeated by Sasuke he died because he wanted to die in Sasuke’s arms..Sasuke did have a few tricks undersleeve but their werent his..it was Orochimaru’s powers..plus the curse mark..Sasuke may have seem like he put up a good fight but only because Itachi was almost blind and the fact that he was eaten up by disease and only prolonging his life with medications in order to last untill the day comes when he meets and fights Sasuke..Even Tobi said to Sasuke that Itachi couldve kill him easily if Itachi was serious..Itachi was much too powerfull to be beaten up..even Tobi wouldnt dare attack Konoha as long as Itachi’s alive..but Itachi died and transferred his powers to Sasuke which then also leads to gaining the Magenkyo Sharingan..

     To conclude my point I still believe that Sasuke is weak because he had it easy gaining these powers and achieving his goals..in comparison to Naruto..not being a genious..became so powerfull only through will power..not goin back on his word and believing in himself..remember what Jiraya said to Orochimaru?..something like “You dont measure a ninjas strenght on how many jutsu the can use but through their will power…”

     I see your point but, you are mistakened in a couple of things:

     1. Orochimarus powers and his white snake was once already defiated by Itachi and that is exactly why he left akacuki.
     2. Sasuke defiated orochimaru when he was week as fragzta said but Itachi on the other hand mad Sasuke to exost himself so oruchimaru would appiar… as you remember he did and he was stronger than ever but Itachi defiated himagain in less than a second.
     3. the 3rd was not the strongest… the first was and tan was the 4th than the 2nd and only after the third as I remember.
     and last but not least as fragzta said still nobody even knows and will never know who was stronger Madara or Itachi because they both evoided each other because of their strength.

     don’t you think that Naruto is a genious himself I mean he even overcome the achievements of jiraia and for in his sage teqnikues in less time than they did… and after all he never uses his 9 fox powers but he is still stringer that Sasuke when he used Orochimarus powers and the curse mark, about the blood limit he is the 4th sun after all just like Kakashi of the white fang. so I think he is a genious too it’s just he is never treated like that because he doesn’t act cool like Sasuke.

     Thanks for the reply, well though out and good points, but i keep with my own theory that sasuke truly is strong, and yes he took a few shortcuts but the bottom line is that he uses them well, naruto also used them, actually almost every character in the story used some kind of advantage to gain further power.

     Since we both know the battle with itachi, how it turns out and to not give further spoilers, i ask you, what other ninja would have survived against sasuke if he went all out like he did vs itachi or killerbee (which had the 8 tails fully developed and working vs them)? So far he hasn’t done the same versus anyone else, orochimaru included, he is clearly holding back vs the raikage, activating the sharingam only to dispell an illusion and hasn’t applied any elemental jutsu on his foes or used any ninja tools except his sword. Also he seems to have some “new power” we still haven’t seen and that creepy shadow/chakra which is unexplained.

     About the elemental training, we’ve only seen him training it solo, at the start of part II, it seemed orochimaru was only aware of a certain degree of it’s power.

     I don’t disagree on the part that itachi or orochimaru at full power are far stronger then sasuke, or any other character for that matter, just stating that he isn’t weak. Else tobi wouldn’t be interested in him.

     Wow! I see you really like Naruto, cos you know alot about it… and before I’ll answer I would say that I like to chate with people like you becouse it’s verry interesting to learn about other peoples opinions.

     as for the answer I agree with you that it is verry inportant to beliave in yourself andwork hard to achieve your dreams but there are some opsticles that is just inpossible to overcome let me explain:

     you are right geniuses are blessed by gud and the normal one who works hard can become stronger than the true genious but nobody has the chance against the true geniouse who at the saim time is training harder than everybody alse… remember about Itachi he was not only the best he he was the first in all Konoha and it’s not only because he was the genious he was working so hard that he graduated the akademy at the age of 6, at the age of 8 he was the chunenn and at the age of 13 even younger than sasuke when he left the Village he was already the leader of all of the Anbu teams. beliave me it can not be be achiaved only because he was the geniouse and it is well seen in the anime he was making the hardes Suriken trainings than anyone ever in history (remember when orochimaru saw him and got exaited) also remember the eppisode when he is about to kill all of Uchiha he tells them that he lost hope in Uchiha clan because they don’t even know what are they capable of.. it means that they don;t train enough to achiave their aims and they are selfish as you know Uchihas wanted to take over the hole Konoha but I tachi was so strong that he knew from the verry beginning that he could handle all of them and this is not only thanks to the fact that he was the geniouse he was the hard worker too but he had one weeknees he was too kind and too peacefull.

     As for Guy and kakashi well it’s the saim thing you can not say that guy is working harder than Kakashi… just imagine kakashi made chidory at the age of 13 and it’s an s class ninjutsu.. he can even make rassengan and it makes a lot of training as you know it took three years for the forth to learn this tecnikue but it a matter of discusse lets see the strength of both:

     yes Guy is fast, Yes if he opens the 8 gattes he can be as strong as Hokages, yeas he can fight kakashi and will not be cought in genjutsu but:

     he has nothin to put against kakashis chidori, is as fast as he is before opening his chakra gates ( it’s a fact kakashi is so fast according to the kakashi gaiden that without sharingan he will not be able to use chidori), you are also mistakend saying that kakashi can not copy his jutsues he can! if you will watch the 1 and 2 shippuden serries you will see that kakashi is using some of guys taijutsu teqnikues and moreover remember sasukes fight against gaara he copyed lee’s taijutsu so kakashi can do it with guy too and most inportantly guy can put nothing against kakashis Mangakiu sharingan as a matter of fact his mangakiu if you ask me is stronger that itachies it’s just he’s body is not strong enough to handle it and the last but not least he is as clever as shikamaru thus there is no way that guy can win against him and when you say that if guy opens the 8 gates he can be stronger than Hokages well Kakashi is already as strong as the Hokages he would even be chosen to be one if not danzo with his hipnoticue sharingan that I’m 100% sure he used it against the aldears of konoha like he did with Kages to become the Hokage.

     I agree with you 100% he is really strong! it’s just a bit dissepointing that he is not Stronger than Naruto because It was always like that before and know than when he had all of this extra powers like the curse mark and the white snakes of Orochimaru he was still weaker than Naruto.
